Everything About DIOR Men Spring/Summer 2024 Collection
Celebrating his fifth anniversary at Dior, Jones pays homage to the iconic trio of Dior designers who came before him—Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré, and Marc Bohan.

Kim Jones, the visionary creative director of Christian Dior, has once again left a lasting mark on the fashion world with the Spring Summer 2024 Menswear collection. Celebrating his fifth anniversary at Dior, Jones pays homage to the iconic trio of Dior designers who came before him—Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré, and Marc Bohan. Through a seamless fusion of historical motifs and contemporary propositions, Jones creates a collection that embodies the essence of Dior while pushing the boundaries of luxury fashion. The highly anticipated fashion show took place in a grand, temporary structure located outside the École Militaire. As crowds eagerly awaited the event, security officers in black suits grappled with the scorching sun. The show commenced with a theatrical flourish as a wide runway made of polished metal grey tiles was unveiled. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the first notes of Primal Scream’s “Higher Than The Sun,” remixed by Andrew Weatherall, filled the air. A mesmerising sight awaited the audience as the entire cast of models emerged from beneath the runway in a stunning grid formation—a truly awe-inspiring moment.
Kim Jones also put into emphasis the spirit of Yves Saint Laurent’s brief tenure, while incorporating textiles, materials, and embellishments reminiscent of Marc Bohan and Gianfranco Ferré. Kim mixed his own signature touch of British tailoring and playful modernity into his new menswear collection.

Inspired by the house ethos, Jones affirms a central focus on “silhouette, shape, technique, and fabrication of the very highest order.” Jones, commemorating his fifth year and collection at Dior Men, honours the past and shapes the future with this collection.
Indeed, this anniversary collection presents an intricate collage of Dior’s legacy. A range of influences from various Dior predecessors, such as Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic silhouettes, Gianfranco Ferré’s exquisite embroideries, Marc Bohan’s remarkable textures, and Monsieur Dior’s enduring cabochons, are beautifully woven into the collection. The timeless and the contemporary meet in a unique fusion that Jones describes as “a culture we have inherited from womenswear past and applied to menswear present.”

Embracing the ongoing neon trend that has taken the runways by storm, the colour palette showcased vibrant chartreuse, aqua, neon green, and hot pink. Additionally, the ensembles were styled with layered shirting, and the footwear ventured into the realm of streetwear, featuring chunky soles and a focus on practicality.

When it comes to accessories, the unwavering commitment to meticulous craftsmanship and reverence for the past was evident from the outset. Notably, the legendary 1955 Lady Dior bag made its presence felt in an innovative manner, as elements of its timeless design were artfully incorporated into slides and loafers. Furthermore, models sported eye-catching knit hats in a variety of vivid colours and captivating textures, ranging from a vibrant electric orange to a soft, understated baby pink.

The Dior Spring-Summer 2024 menswear show also attracted an impressive lineup of celebrities, showcasing the brand’s widespread appeal. Some stars in attendance included J Balvin, Aron Piper, Winnie Harlow, Jeremy Scott, Tom Daley, Jeremy O. Harris, Pharrell, Maluma, Caleb McLaughlin, Felix Mallard, the Hadban brothers, and more.
