Kate Moss: Revisiting Her Most Iconic Runway Moments

We revisit some of the most important moments from Kate Moss’ elaborate career and learn why she was a part of the ‘Big Six’.

Kate Moss

The most iconic fashion model of the last two decades, Kate Moss, has achieved what few do: transcend her field of action and become an icon, the sign of a time. Born in South London in 1974, she started in the fashion world in 1988, when she was discovered by Sarah Doukas, owner of the Storm modelling agency. By 1990, she was already the face of the cover of a youth-style magazine, photographed by her friend Corinne Day when she would become the most famous top in the industry and indispensable on the runways of New York, Paris and Milan. A position that, somehow, she has never ceased to occupy.

Many fashion designers cite Kate as their muse: her angelic yet playful presence was an inspiration to visionaries such as Gianni Versace and Alexander McQueen. The latter made history when he projected an ethereal hologram of Moss in his fall/winter 2006 “Widows of Culloden” runway show at Paris Fashion Week.

Here are the six most epic moments of Kate Moss on the runway.
